An energy storage cabinet is an integrated, intelligent, and highly safe all-in-one energy storage system, serving as a large-scale smart power bank. It integrates battery modules, inverters, BMS (Battery Management System), temperature control, fire protection, and intelligent control modules into a single cabinet for ready-to-use installation. Its main functions include power storage, discharge, voltage stabilization, backup power supply, and intelligent power scheduling.
An energy storage cabinet consists of five core components. The battery module stores electrical energy, commonly using safe and durable lithium iron phosphate batteries or low-cost lead-acid batteries. The BMS monitors battery status in real time, preventing overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit, and overheating to protect batteries and extend their service life. The PCS (Power Conversion System), also known as an inverter, converts alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) while stabilizing voltage, preventing lightning strikes, and protecting equipment. The EMS (Energy Management System), as the control center, automatically schedules charging and discharging times, supports charging during low-tariff periods and discharging during high-tariff periods to save electricity costs, and enables remote monitoring and alarm functions. The temperature control and fire protection system maintains a suitable operating temperature for batteries, provides high-temperature alarms, power-off protection, and fire safety safeguards, ensuring safe use both indoors and outdoors.
Energy storage cabinets operate in three common modes. In charging mode, excess solar power generated during the day or low-cost grid power at night is converted to DC and safely stored in batteries. In discharging mode, batteries supply power and convert DC to AC for stable use by households, commercial stores, or equipment during nighttime, power outages, or high-tariff periods. In float charge standby mode, the cabinet remains connected to a power source with continuous low-current charging to keep batteries fully charged without damage, providing immediate power supply in case of blackouts.
Standard energy storage cabinets adopt safe batteries and multiple protection designs with complete safety certifications, ensuring high safety when installed properly. They are suitable for household photovoltaic systems, areas with frequent power outages, factories, farms, and off-grid outdoor scenarios, working best with solar panels and inverters.
